As though you aren't sucking enough lately Disney

now you gotta go and ruin one of your best...

Walt Disney Home Entertainment proudly presents the straight to DVD release of BAMBI II, the must-own animated sequel to Walt Disney's immortal classic "Bambi." This all-new adventure film from Disney DVD, stars Bambi, Thumper, Flower and all of "Bambi’s" original characters, and introduces an exciting new cast of characters including Thumper’s rambunctious sisters.

Ok real quik, anyone who hasn't seen a disney sequel yet, be thankful. They all suck, as will this one. It will probably feature some lame singing (which is totally out of context with the original Bambi) and pop-culture references, just like all of Disney's stupid movies lately. Come on, get back to quality, please? Eventually some company is going to usurp your audience by providing something with a better storyline, non-computer generated animation and some original songs for once, so you better get your goddamn act together.

By the way, Disney already knows this movie sucks, that's why: BAMBI II will be in stores for only 70 days before going on moratorium.

Disney's audience for it's sequels isn't the entire family. They're aiming sequels at the children, as was the case with Lilo and Stitch, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and so on. They believe their demographic for sequels is elementary school children, mostly girls, between the ages of 4 and 9. They have been losing market share, though, and a lot of that is due to their attempting to focus on all childrens' age groups instead of a single one. Their competition isn't a single entity, but all of Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, PBS and after school network programming. With that onslaught against them it's amazing the money men for Disney have allowed the Disney Channel to last as long as it has in it's current format.

But, then one would have to ask why a 25 year old man is using his time to harshely critique a children's movie?

They aren't losing market share because they have too big a demographic. They're losing market share because the stuff they're putting on the market is a bunch of crap. Why do you think they teamed up with studio ghibli? Or bought Pixar? Because they know that their own writers and animators sucked ass. New movies are made by pixar, straight to dvd releases are made by the Disney animation studios. Which suck more?

And this 25 year old man cares about animation and tradition, and hates to see a masterpiece like Bambi put to shame by some fag teenybopper popculture sequal.
